Final Reflection

Even though a lot of people and myself thought that US 180 was a class we thought was unnecessary, at the end of the day we can all learn something, and I honestly did. I put what I learned in Freshman Academy and put it to the test. Doing reading logs every week plus more. I always assess myself so I can know if I'm doing something wrong or right and the things that I should continue to do. Some of my classes are getting harder as the semester comes to an end and some of them are getting better because they are easy to understand and study for, but US 180 is coming to an end, but I will use what I learned. I haven't missed a class yet or have I been late so that is something I am proud of. I started doing things like volunteering and joining clubs, so I feel like as a person I am growing socially and growing academically as well.

Library Assignment

This week, for my U.S. 180 class we had to do an assignment called the " Library Assignment". I found out different resources and help that I could use if I needed help on papers, research papers, etc. The knowledge Market is a place where you can get help on different subjects. I go there every Monday for tutoring in Psychology, but they do other subjects as well. I have a paper that I'm working on in my writing 098 class , it's about money and how it affects me and people as a whole. I learned that we can reserve study rooms in the library and have a study session with friends and classmates. Me and Angel reserved a room in Pew Library on the second floor and talked about our papers. She helped look at main ideas in my paper in a different way, so now I'm going to rewrite my paper using some of our ideals that we made up together. The study rooms are up to 5-6 people so maybe next time more people can join us. Plus it's a whole bunch of librarians that are around to help us. They were very nice and helpful when we had questions and they gave us information that we needed.

Writing Assignment

In my US 180 class, we took what we learned in Problem Solving Methodology and we put it to use. In a group we all had to come up with a problem and we had to use the 10 steps of problem solving to solve our problem. Our problem was saving money. Why is it so hard to save our money? What do we spend our money on? is some of the questions we had to ask our self. This activity was fun and it gave me a chance to go through some of the steps in problem solving methodology and put it in a real life scenario.

Last week was good. I took my math test and my Psychology, which are the two subjects I need help in, but I think I'm actually doing good and its not as bad as I thought. I got a 82% on my math test. I know I can do better I was just nervous because it was my first test of the semester, but now I'm a little more confident about the next test. My psychology test was Thursday, I studied before my test but I was about to give up because it was so much information, but when I got the test I was filling in bubbles left and right. I think I did good but I guess I just have to wait until I get my results back. : )

I actually like my classes I have for Fall 2014. They are kind of hard and challenging but I'm up for the challenge. I have Movement Science, Writing, Math, Us- !80, and Psychology. I like all my Professors, they really help you and take things slow when your not getting something. I really like my Movement Science class, I guess its because it has a lot to do with my major. We talk about our health as a whole and it actually inspired me to eat better and exercise more. My most challenging class is Psychology. Its a lecture, but all we do is power point so its kind of hard to remember all the information. But I got a tutor so I can keep up. I also got a tutor for math. math is not my favorite subject, but I took College Algebra my senior year of high school, so I know the things he talks about, but that tutor will keep me on my stuff so I can get all A's.

My first week of school was good. I was we'll prepared because of the asi which helped me expect everything that could've possibly been thrown at me. But I met new people and got to know the campus better, even going off campus learning where different bus routes will take me. My classes are great so far, they are hard and challenging but I like a hard challenge. Make me think and get outside of my comfort zone. My teachers are very helpful, and they took things slow the first week, so me and everybody else could get adjusted. But so far school is good.
